Born and raised in Switzerland, Claudia has been living in Santa Barbara, California since 1997 where she completed an interior design program in 2003. After attending jewelry classes at the Santa Barbara Continuing Education Program she found her passion for working with precious metals and, applying her design background, has been designing and crafting jewelry since 2005.

claudia A. designs are inspired by architecture, geometrical shapes and unusual color and material combinations. Claudia's goal is to create minimal, timeless pieces that can be worn every day and for special occasions alike.

While working primarily in sterling silver, she also incorporates gold, copper, enamel (kiln fired glass on metal), up-cycled bicycle tubing rubber and packaging plastics as well as felt into her jewelry designs. Claudia is constantly looking for and exploring with new materials she can use as unusual accents in her jewelry designs.

She applies techniques used in fabrication (soldering, forging, fusing, riveting, stone setting, oxidizing, folding, etc.), and enameling (kiln firing of glass on to metal) as well as weaving, folding, knitting and crocheting to handcraft earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, and the occasional cufflink.

Claudia has been exhibiting at the Santa Barbara Arts and Crafts Show since May 2005 and has exhibits in various local art shows and stores and participates in various California art festivals as well as in art festivals accross the US, including Craft Boston in Massachusetts, Des Moines Arts Festival in Iowa, Ann Arbor State Street Art Festival in Michigan, Bellevue Arts Museum Arts Festival in Bellevue Washington, Best of the Northwest Art and Fine Craft Show in Seattle Washington, Tempe Festival of Arts and Scottsdale Art Festival in Arizona, and Coconut Grove Art Festival in Miami Florida.

Designing and handcrafting jewelry has been a passion for many years and Claudia hopes that she will have the opportunity to share some of her creations with you!
